Kleen Environmental Technologies, Inc. (KET) is a locally owned and regionally operated environmental service group headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Educational and learning institutions are multi-departmental and generate a variety of dangerous wastes. KET's experienced field staff regularly consults with school officials on the generation and disposal of regulated wastes, as well as other environmental concerns that include air quality and underground storage tanks issues. Environmental services tailored to accommodate educational facilities include the following:

Hazardous waste management to include outdated and spent chemistry from biology, arts and chemistry departments, engineering and maintenance.
Sampling and analysis for characterization of unknown chemical compounds.
Facilitate Transportation and disposal through EPA permitted facilities.
Lead and asbestos sampling and remediation.
Fluorescent light tube recycling and PCB/Non-PCB ballast disposal and recycle.
Disposal/recycling of oil and petroleum-based fuel products (oil, gasoline and diesel).
 Universal battery disposal and recycling.
Refrigerant oils and fluids from HVAC cooling systems.
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) consulting on internal/external air quality issues.
 Twenty-four hour emergency spill response.
Underground Storage Tank (UST) decommissioning and remediation.
Seminar presentation on environmental and hazardous waste issues.

The world of hazardous waste management can be a complex one. KET works with clients to foster an understanding of transportation and management issues as well as short and long term liability typically associated with the environmental and hazardous waste arena. KET interfaces with federal, state and local regulating bodies governing all phases of site work, ensuring all policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable guidelines. Client required enhancements are developed and incorporated into specific phases of each project.

KET develops site/project specific Best Management Practice (BMP) programs that address beneficial reutilization issues. In many cases, waste materials may be recycled or otherwise beneficially reused. KET has teamed with Washington State Agencies in reviewing industrial processes and methods of incorporating solid wastes as raw materials in industrial applications. Often, solid wastes may be recycled or beneficially reused in a cost-effective manner. Such BMPPs have been developed by KET in accordance with applicable regulations in Washington, Oregon, Montana and California.

Seminars on Hazardous Waste Disposal and Chemical Releases

KET has teamed with local learning institutions to create and present programs on environmental issues to the student body. Most often, general science programs do not include learning materials or information related to the real world of environmental science and hazardous waste management. KET presents seminars and classes with a hands-on approach to understanding the basic elements of an environmentally responsible program.
